  1.             Printing

  3. The graphical data displayed in each box can be printed on a 
  4. PostScript based laser printer. The procedure for doing so follows:
  5.  
  6. (1) Open up the print window by selecting the entry {Print} from the     phase space menu or by selecting the button {Print} from the 
  7.     main panel.
  8.   
  9. (2) Determine a print option (Postscript file or Raster image) from 
  10.     the cycle item {Print Option:}.  When dumping a raster image, be 
  11.     careful not to disrupt the region of the screen image being 
  12.     dumped.

  14. (3) Determine which data will be printed by selecting an appropriate 
  15.     entry from the cycle item {Region:} on the print window.
  16.  
  17. (4) Select the button {Print} in the print window.

  19. In the raster printing mode, the raster file from "screendump" is
  20. processed and converted into a Postscript file by "psraster", whose
  21. ouput is piped to the laser printer by the standard UNIX printer 
  22. filter "lpr".

  24. In the graph printing mode, the output of "kgraph" is in the UNIX 
  25. plot file format. It is piped to the laser printer by the standard 
  26. UNIX printer filter "lpr -g". The hard copy output contains a header 
  27. with many system parameters.

  29. In the PostScript printing mode, the output of "kgraph", which is a 
  30. modification of the UNIX command "graph" for 2-d graphics, is 
  31. converted to a PostScript file by "psplot," which is then sent to 
  32. the PostScript laser printer by "lpr."  Note that the box and labels 
  33. are also neatly processed in the publication quality mode.
